Jackson Architects is proud of its extensive experience working with private clients, making their dreams a reality on a wide variety of new houses, domestic extensions, barn conversions and refurbishments. The practice has worked with green oak on a huge number of projects from simple roof structures and beamed ceilings to complex large indoor pools and garden rooms. Jackson Architects is pleased to be able to give a full, yet cost-effective, architects’ design and supervision service for the smaller domestic projects.
Jackson Architects understands that most of its clients have never used an architect before and have very little idea of how much it will cost. The practice’s first consultation is always free following which the practice will quote fixed lump sum fees where possible so that the costs of the project are clear and understandable from the outset.
The practice aims to make the client’s dreams – not its own – a reality. The practice’s key role is to understand and interpret the client’s needs in a creative, imaginative yet eminently practical way. Jackson Architects is so confident in its ability to get the design right, that it will only charge the agreed fixed fee once the design has the client’s approval.
Jackson Architects is passionate about the use of materials, such as green oak and natural stone, to make best use of their inherent strengths and natural beauty. The practice’s knowledge of traditional details allows it to sympathetically convert, extend or refurbish older properties. The practice can also, when required, introduce authentic period detail and proportion into new buildings, without sacrificing modern technical requirements. Jackson Architects relishes working with local craftsmen to achieve the best results of which everyone involved can be proud.
Green oak is strong, extremely durable, beautiful in its natural state inside or out. The practice likes to use green oak to express the structure of the building.
