Sally Ruel established her practice in June 1996. Using a breadth of experience and skills she offers a range of architectural services spanning all project stages from feasibility studies to building design and contract administration for projects in the housing, community, commercial and leisure sectors. She can also advise on the appointment of other building professionals to make a complete design team.

Through her sister company, Quercus Rural Building Design, she is able to offer energy design advice and Part 6 Compliance Certificates for domestic buildings, as well as planning coordinator services to comply with the Construction Design and Management Regulations.

Sally Ruel aims to make a creative analysis of clients’ requirements, initiating dialogue at an early stage to establish cost, programming and design objectives, with the aim of creating buildings that are appropriate to their purpose, sensitive to their context and have a low impact on the environment. She is well versed in managing the complexities of the building process, guiding clients through the maze of issues associated with getting a project built.

“Despite the trials and tribulations of the building process we have ended up with a lovely family house which is warm and easy to run and which we enjoy every day, so we would really like to thank you for all your expertise and help and support.”

“Sally was very different from other architects we had worked with before – very involved, attentive to detail, helpful and straightforward.”
